NDB’s MD Mr. Richard Maru OBE Resigns

National Development Bank’s Managing Director Mr. Richard Maru OBE has resigned today. Mr. Maru will be leaving the bank after serving as MD for  almost 8 years. Mr. Maru joined the then Rural Development Bank in 2004 when the bank was insolvent for the third time since its inception. During his term Mr. Maru and the NDB Board chaired by Mr. William Lamur have been able to turn the bank around in the last 8 years from been insolvent in 2004 to returning a after tax profit of K9.3 million in 2011.

I salute you Mr. Maru for all that you have done for the National Development Bank to support indegeneous business men & women of this great country of ours. You have done a lot for the bank and I’m blessed to have worked under your leadership. It was an amazing 8 years working under your leadership. I saw a lot of good changes in your term as MD for NDB. You’re a great leader and I wish you well in you future endeavours. Hope we get more leaders like you!
